I am Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Kansas Medical School, and a Research Associate at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ). I have a PhD in Morphological Sciences at UFRJ, under the main supervision of Dr. Rodrigo Nunes da Fonseca. My thesis' title is Glycosylation across biological boundaries: from developmental biology to metabolic adaptations in Earth and space, and it was co-developed under the supervision of Wagner Dias and Adriane Todeschini (UFRJ), and Cassandra Extavour at Harvard University. I have a Master's degree in Biophysics from UFRJ under the main supervision of Dr. Wagner Dias, and a cum laude bachelor's degree in Genetics from UFRJ.
The general line of my research is curiosity driven, and mainly focus on understand how metabolic processes work during homeostasis, diseases and evolution. More specifically, I am interested in:
How post-translational modifications (PTMs) regulate biochemical pathways
What are the conserved/divergent mechanisms of PTMs among different species
How metabolism behaves under variations in PTMs signaling.
